There are three hostels within one boundary namely, Ojoswini(G+2), Tejaswini(G+2) and Tapaswini (G+1) for +2, UG and PG girls, each having the intake capacity of 300, 300 and 100 students respectively. Admission to hostels is based on merit and good conduct. The SC and ST students are selected as per the existing earmarked seats on the basis of mark secured in the last examination. However, seats are offered to the needy students on the basis of availability of seats in hostels. Admission to hostels is made on a stipulated date in the office of the hostels on deposit of required fees and filling up the necessary documents in the hostel along with the production of admission receipt of Rs 65 and three latest passport size photographs. Father/mother with the proposed local guardian should accompany the students at the time of admission into hostels. Parents are advised to nominate responsible persons known to them as local guardian.
Admission fees for the hostel, annual charges, establishment charges and other fees for the hostel are to be deposited in the office of the Superintendent.
Local students within 30 km radius of the college are not eligible to apply for a seat in the hostel.
After a student get admitted into the hostel, a student has to stay in the hostel obeying the prescribed rules and regulations. No student can claim, as a matter of right, to stay a particular room/hostel who she was a boarder during the previous year.
Students living in the hostel will be under direct control of the Superintendent and the principal of the college.
The boarders shall be held responsible for any damage to hostel furniture and in case of damage to electric installation, the boarders shall be held responsible jointly.
Roll call and attendance will be taken daily at the end of the evening prayer at 6 pm in the dining hall by the Matron supervised by the Asst Superintendent and all the boarders should be present in the prayer class and at the roll call.
The study hours run from 6.30 am to 9 am and 6.30 pm to 10/11 pm. Viewing TV during study hours is not permissible.
No boarder shall go out of the college campus without permission.
Absence from the hostel without the permission of the Superintendent is strictly prohibited and will be treated as an act of indiscipline.
Authorized visitors are allowed to visit the boarder in the hostel only during visiting hours. They have to sign the visitor’s book along with the necessary entries before meeting the boarder.
No boarder will be permitted to leave the hostel without a letter of authority from the parents or local guardian.
No boarder will be permitted to go home alone during the working days except under special circumstances.
Boarders cannot stay in the hostel during vacation except in special circumstances like exam. Hostel remains closed during the puja vacation and summer vacation.
No boarder shall leave the hostel permanently unless she obtains the permission of the Principal through the Superintendent after submitting an application and clearing all hostel dues.
Absence from the hostel continuously for one month will lead to forfeit the seat in the hostel.
Boarders should obtain the permission of the Principal through Superintendent before joining in any association outside the college.
Absence from hostel in day time and evening hour without leave or prior permission of the authority, continued negligence in study, maintaining unhygienic room are considered as breach of discipline.
The Superintendent has the power to punish any boarder for breach of discipline.
Ragging in hostel is strictly prohibited, boarders indulging it will make themselves liable to removal from the hostel.
The Superintendent shall be in charge of general administration, finances, and discipline of the hostel. The Asst. Superintendent shall be in overall charge of the hostel mess and perform other duties assigned by the Principal. The Executive members like Cultural Secretary, Mess Secretary, Health Secretary, Garden Secretary, Common room Secretary, Athletic Secretary, from among the students of +3 3rd year and Assistant Secretary from among the +3 2nd year boarders will be nominated to help the Asst. Superintendent to maintain inmates’ discipline, health, cultural activities, cleanliness of rooms, campus, supply of water, electricity and other amenities in the hostel.
Each boarder is required to submit the passport size photograph of her local guardian.
Use of extra electric appliances such as heaters, iron, and other electric devices in the room is strictly prohibited.
No boarder is allowed to entertain a visitor without a written permission of the authorities.
Boarders may be expelled from the hostel in case of violation of hostel rules, prolonged and unauthorized absence in the hostel or refusal for isolation in case of communicable diseases.
The boarders are required to take their meals only in the hostel mess and they are strictly prohibited to prepare any food in their rooms.
One mess secretary will be nominated from among the boarders to assist the Asst. Superintendent for running the mess.
Mess charges are payable in advance at the time of admission into the hostel. When she leaves the hostel permanently, she has to produce a ‘no dues’ certificate.
If a boarder stays for 10 days or more in a month in a hostel, she will pay the full monthly mess charges, if she stays for less than 10 days in the hostel, she shall pay half the mess dues for the month.
If the boarder remains absent for one month with prior permission of the Principal and Superintendent, she has to pay Rs 100 towards mess establishment charges.
All the boarders have to deposit their mess dues between 1st to 11th of every month positively. Those who are the defaulters have to pay Rs 100 fine till 20th and Rs 200 till 30th /31st of every month.
Boarders have to leave their hostel soon after their final examinations are over and can under no circumstances continue to stay on any ground.
Any letter or application addressed to any authority must be routed through the office of the Superintendent of the hostel.
No student is allowed to keep her guests without the written permission from the Superintendent.
